Steps collected over 500 kilos of used clothing donated by Learning Rhythm International (LRI) School, Kalanki, Kathmandu. These were stored and sorted by four volunteer students from Singapore, at Mountain People Centre, Three hundred kilos were then freighted to Shomdang and Tipling. Here 400 school children received part school uniforms, distributed by the new formed Steps Foundation Women’s group of Tipling village.
Christina Tamang was project leader, backed by two volunteers Borja Garcia and Laura, who held health and exercise workshops. Finance of transport was covered by Mountain People, Beni Handicrafts and FreedomKitBags-UK.
