Winter is coming.
Once the waters have settled, we see the devastation – of land, of buildings – and to my people. The Government, national and local, have done good work, as have the military, police and emergency services. They will continue to do so. Yet the need is varied and great.
Two (of many) fringe groups are:
1. Single mothers & their children.
2. The elderly (often alone).
My plan is to produce a range of warm and robust jackets, to meet the coming winter – under the brand: Steps. These will be produced in Nepal, to be economic, suitable to purpose, and provide jobs for the workers.
Step by Step
1. We purchase material from the local market- with your money.
2. Utilize our friend’s factory, with modern machines & skilled workers.
3. Jackets: 3 children sizes, 3 lady sizes, 2 mens sizes.
All produced before we reach Nepal.
4. We distribute to single mothers and their children, and the elderly/infirm (a needy man in the same group would receive help too).
I, with three friends, will travel to Nepal 2 October – we pay our own expenses – so all funds go to the project. With our local knowledge, contact network, and working with local health authorities, we will in advance have a list of those most in need in the area. We can not help everyone, here is a needed attempt to reach those in need who have been overlooked by the present ongoing aid help.
Thanking everyone in advance – Beni (Rani Ghale).
